In order to have a proper 64th birthday celebration for my dad this year my buddy Ben and I decided it would be fun to head into the Indian Peaks and attempt the Mohling Traverse starting at Mitchell Lake (we were not able to get a Long Lake day pass) and heading up and over Pawnee Pass.
We arrived at Mitchell Lake parking lot at 6:30am and headed out a few minutes before 7am holding a solid pace past the beautiful lakes and gaining views of Apache, Pawnee, mount Shoshoni, Mount Toll and Audobon. We made it to the Summit of Pawnee Pass fairly quickly (1:30 from the TH) and headed down in towards Lake Isabelle.
